How to Blacklist a User

This tool allows you to blacklist fraudulent IP or email addresses from your accounts

We have released a feature called Excluded Users. This feature allows Audience admins to tag specific IP and email addresses account wide so that they will not be eligible to be chosen as a winner in any Audience experience.

NOTE: THIS ACTION CANNOT BE UNDONE. Once a user has been added to the exclusion list, they will blacklisted on the backend of the system, so even if removed from the blacklist, they will still be excluded.

Even if users could be removed from the exclusion list, it is not recommended (even if there are complaints from the user) as they are usually added to that list because of cheating or unfair practices. Audience does NOT automatically add users to the exclusion list. Any users added to that list would be from someone within your organization.

To view this tool click on your account name in the top right corner of your Home or Experiences page:

Then click on the "Account Manager" from that menu:

Hover over the name of your account in the middle of the page and click the left side of the "Details" button:

From there go to the "Advanced" tab and go to the "Excluded Users" section:

From there you can click the blue "Add Filter" button which brings up this popup where you can choose if you would like to exclude an email or the IP address of a user by selecting it in the dropdown menu and then inputting the corresponding email or IP address below:

Note: Excluding an email or IP address from a parent account will exclude that email/IP from all of it's child accounts.

Once an IP or email address filter is in place, the end user will view this message upon entering further experiences. The "Resolve here" URL will allow them to verify their email address with a verification code which will then remove them as a blacklisted user.

When blacklisting an IP address, this means nobody can be considered a winner from the IP address that is blacklisted. If you notice that there are multiple different entries coming from one IP address, this could be a sign of fraudulent activity. To find an IP address of a user, you can download any CSV file from an experience and the IP address will be listed in a column of that file.
