How To Use Virtual Live Remote

Connect our form to a livestream broadcast using our Virtual Live Remote live stream app.

When you start a live stream using YouTube or Facebook, your fans connect with you instantly, but how much do you really know about who is viewing your videos? With our Virtual Live Remote app, you can add a form to the live stream, embed it to your site, and collect info on users as they view the broadcast. Below is a quick guide on how to set up your own Virtual Live Remote.

To get started, make sure you have Virtual Live Remote enabled on your account. If you don't, please contact a Client Success representative through chat or email support.

Editing the layout:

When building the layout, it's similar to Sweepstakes. You can add images, edit your form, and build out Entry Confirmation Emails.

Tip: Set the form to "Full Width" for the best look on desktop.

Setting up your Broadcast:

Under the Broadcasts tab is where you'll link the livestream to the form. When you create a Livestream experience, a Broadcast will already be in place for you to configure. In this view, you can open and close Broadcasts. This comes in handy if you want to pick winners from various timeframes within the livestream.

Definitions of what you see on the Broadcasts tab:

"Close current broadcast & create new" button: This button allows you to create segments called Broadcasts. Segmenting your livestream allows you to pick winners from various times within the duration of a livestream.

Broadcast Name: The name that identifies the broadcast you are choosing a winner from. This could be the name of the event, the timeframe, or anything you'd like to input here.

Started at: This is the time the current broadcast was started at. Keep in mind that "broadcast" is our term for this segment. This doesn't mean your livestream has started.

Entrants: How many people have filled out the form during the current broadcast.

Platform Type: Which streaming platform you are using. We currently utilize YouTube and Facebook Live for the video.

Video URL: The URL where the stream is live. i.e. YouTube

Video Active toggle: By default, this is toggled "on." This toggle allows you to turn on or off the video player at the top of the form.

Comments Active toggle: After a participant fills out the form, the app pulls in the comments from the video's livestream. If you don't want to pull in comments, you can toggle it to "off."

Show Video Before Entry toggle: If you want the livestream to be playing before a participant fills out the form, then leave this toggled to "on." If it is toggled "off" then a participant has to fill out the form before they can view the livestream.

Picking winners:

Choosing a winner is similar to all of our other applications that have the Choose Winner tab except for one minor detail. You'll notice a dropdown that lets you choose from which Broadcast you want to pick from. This will pick a participant who has entered from within the timeframe of the selected Broadcast.
