Connecting the Google Big Query Integration

A step-by-step walkthrough to connect any project, dataset, & table in Google Big Query to your Audience account.

Updated over a week ago

STEP 1 : Log In to Audience.io.

As an admin, log in to the Audience dashboard.

If your organization has multiple accounts, make sure you are in the account that you intend to connect. The account name is displayed in the upper right corner. (Click here for details on navigating between accounts.)

STEP 2 : Navigate to the Account Manager

Click on the account name displayed in the upper-right corner, then click Account Manager at the top of the dropdown.

STEP 3 : Access Account Settings

The Account Manager may display multiple child accounts. Hover your cursor to the right of the account that you intend to connect and click Details.

STEP 4 : Integrations Setup

On the left, click Advanced then Integrations, found in the new top menu.

STEP 5 : Add New Connection & Open Settings

If Google BigQuery is already listed, you can click the three dots to open the Settings...

If no BigQuery integrations are listed, click click the blue Add Integration button & select Google BigQuery. Note that multiple BigQuery integrations can be added, if needed.

*If BigQuery doesn't appear as an option, please contact support to get it added.

STEP 6 : BigQuery Integration Settings

Before authentication, you will need to specify the Project ID from BigQuery.

For help finding your Project ID, see step 7 (next) or click here.

STEP 7 : Find Project ID (in BigQuery Studio)

In BigQuery Studio, simply click the Projects dropdown at the top of the dashboard. Each project's ID will be listed along the right. Copy the intended Project Id.

STEP 8 : Add Project ID + Authenticate

Paste the Project ID from BigQuery in Audience's integration settings.

To authenticate, click the button labeled Connect to Google BigQuery and follow Google's authentication process.

*Note: If the settings page doesn't automatically update once you've completed the authorization login process, make sure you all authorization tabs have been closed.

Alternatively, you can copy & share the authorization link as needed.

STEP 9 : Select Dataset from Dropdown

Select the proper Dataset and Table from dropdown lists. (Once authenticated, the dropdown lists will automatially display the datasets and tables from your project in BigQuery.)

Congratulations! Audience & Google BigQuery are connected!
